Energy conversion and storage techniques play a critical role in a carbon-neutral, sustainable energy future. Our research focuses on developing emerging materials for energy applications. More specifically, the main goal of our research activities is to understand the reactions that occur at the interfaces between ionic solids (oxides in particular) and gases and thereby to improve the reaction kinetics for applications in chemical and electrochemical catalysis, such as fuel cells, electrolyzers, hydrocarbon reformers, and sensors. We pursue multidisciplinary approaches, spanning over electrochemistry, solid state electronics and ionics, surface science, catalysis, and micro/nano-fabrication.
